Vase Styling Ideas for Every Room
Vases are the ultimate styling accessory—versatile, timeless, and effortlessly stylish. Whether you’re working with a minimalist aesthetic or a more collected look, there’s always room for a well-placed vase. From the entryway to the home office, vases can instantly elevate a space by adding texture and color and creating those small-but-mighty design moments that tie a room together.
In this post, we’re breaking down how to style vases in every room of your home, with tips and ideas to help you make the most of this go-to decor staple.
ENTRYWAY
A vase filled with fresh florals or lush greenery in your entryway is like an open-armed welcome for your guests. It instantly makes the space feel lived-in, cared for, and inviting and sets the perfect tone the moment someone steps inside. Florals and greenery adds life and warmth and what better way to showcase them than a vase? While there are a million ways to go about this, one of our favorite ways is to use a striking, single, sculptural piece.
Here’s a few tips to nail the look:
Add Greenery or Branches: Whether real or faux, tall stems or seasonal branches can add drama and draw the eye upward, making your entryway feel taller and more grand.
Follow the 1 1/2 Rule: A good rule is to make the height of the arrangement one and a half times the height of the container. For example, if your vase is 10” tall, your arrangement should be about 15” tall.
Mix Other Decor: For a more layered look, add in smaller objects (like books, candles, or a tray) on the other side.

HOME OFFICE
Adding fresh florals to your home office is an easy way to bring a burst of cheer and energy to your workday. Try choosing florals in colors that inspire you and place your vase somewhere you’ll see it often, like your desk or a nearby shelf.
Get the look:
Stack It: Place the vase on a stack of beautiful books to elevate it—literally and visually. If you’re going to stack it, we like to choose a low profile or round vase to ensure it’s not easily knocked over while you’re working.
Use design books, inspiring reads, or matching hardcovers to complement your color palette.

BATHROOM
Vases are the perfect styling solution for bathroom vanities and one of our favorite options is an earthenware or ceramic vase filled with dried florals. It’s such a simple styling moment, but it brings an earthy, calming vibe that’s perfect for a space meant for unwinding.
Go Organic: Look for vases with texture, matte finishes, imperfect shapes, or subtle glaze details to add depth and character.
Choose Low Maintenance Options: Pair them with dried stems like pampas, bunny tails, or eucalyptus for a soft, natural touch that requires zero maintenance.
Add Layers: If your vanity styling includes candles, perfume bottles, or trays, a bud vase adds the organic element that softens the rest.

KITCHEN
If you’re looking for a simple but high-impact way to elevate your kitchen island, look no further than a statement vase or vessel. For this kitchen we chose terracotta for its grounded, earthy charm and lived-in elegance.
Here are a few tips to get the look just right:
Go Oversized: Don’t be afraid of scale! A larger vessel makes a bigger statement and can help visually ground the island.
Branch Out: Fill your vessel with tall branches, seasonal blooms, or leafy stems. Olive branches, eucalyptus or dried botanicals work beautifully and require little maintenance.
Keep It Simple: Let the vessel shine. If you’re styling with florals or stems, go for a single type for a clean, intentional look.

LIVING ROOM
In a living room, a gold or brass vase instantly elevates the space with a warm, understated glow. Pair it with a classic floral arrangement—think white hydrangeas, roses, or even fresh greenery—for a look that feels both timeless and luxurious. Whether styled on a coffee table, built-in, or sideboard, this combo brings a sense of refinement without feeling fussy.

More styling ideas to try:
Mix Heights and Shapes: Group several vases of varying heights and shapes together on a console table or shelf for a curated look.
Keep It Simple: Let a single elegant vase with a minimalist arrangement be the focal point on a coffee table or side table.
Play with Color: Choose vases in colors that complement or contrast your room’s palette to create visual interest.
DINING ROOM
Vases don’t always need to be filled with florals—sometimes, the vase is the art. Leaving a vase empty can highlight its sculptural shape, color, or texture, making it a design moment all on its own. This is especially helpful in spots like the dining room, where you might want something beautiful on the table that doesn’t block sight lines or feel too fussy. Try grouping two or three vases of varying heights together for some dimension or let one statement piece shine solo.
