Jodi has a unique background that marries interior design and civil engineering, while focusing on design and project management for the past 15 years.
Jodi completed a Bachelor of Science in Engineering at Queen’s University Canada with honors. Following graduation, Jodi joined a growing corporation where she learned her communication skills were just as valuable as the technical skills to be a strong project manager.
She always gravitated toward roles that focused on understanding the client’s design needs. Jodi’s focus was aligning proposals, presentations, budget and bids with their expectations. When the company was opening a new regional office, she was given the opportunity to relocate to San Diego.
With the warm California sunshine came a clearer understanding of her personal agenda. The creative side was missing! Jodi enrolled in an interior design program, where she met an established design mentor while serving as the Student Chapter President for the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). She was fortunate to join her mentor’s commercial and residential design firm where her interest in sustainable design flourished. Later, Jodi completed the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED AP) certification program. She had found a place where her passion, purpose and personality all fit - helping people realize the optimal and functional spaces they desired.
Fast forward through family and parenting, and well, picking up things all day! After giving her kids some advice, she decided to take her own words to heart. She realized she needed to be back in the design world. While she loves to oil paint, she needed more to satisfy her creativity.
At Blythe Interiors, she loves being part of a design team again. She’s inspired to be creating obtainable environments that make people feel happy.
