senior Residential interior designer

Blythe Interiors is hiring! We are a rapidly growing design firm nestled in Mission Hills with an ever-growing team.  We are looking for a Senior Residential Interior Designer with strong remodeling and construction experience, plus project management skills ... as well as an amazing eye for creating stylish interiors. Yep ... we are looking for the full package to join our team. Designer must be capable of taking a project from consultation to completion be it a one room refresh, a full kitchen gut and remodel, or an entire house renovation. 

The Pretty Stuff: 

  • Provide client with 2-hour consultations - giving great advice on how clients can improve their spaces.  Be able to provide solid, on the spot advice while thinking budget friendly. 

  • Produce comprehensive budget proposals for goods and hours. 

  • Design within client’s specific budget.  

  • Produce floor plans, elevations and built-in designs. 

  • Understand different design styles. 

  • Design a room based on an overall style or concept photo.  

  • Selections of retail, online and custom materials - while being efficient with time and budget. 

  • Project installations - hanging and/or spotting art, steaming bedding and drapes, unpack boxes & remove rubbish, assemble furniture and/or rearrange, misc. physical work needed to make a space gorgeous! 

 The Construction Stuff: 

  • Create a detailed scope of work based on construction needs. 

  • Communicate construction needs with general and sub-contractors. 

  • Review construction contracts and documents; clarify details and/or make corrections to support scope. 

  • Populate spec packages for furniture, fixtures, equipment and materials. 

  • Coordinate and manage contractors on and offsite when needed - ensuring project goes smoothly while executing scope of work and troubleshooting.  

 The Preferred Stuff: 

  • Interior Design degree.  

  • 5+ years of experience - great if you have a Model Home background. 

  • Likes to work remotely. 

  • Experienced with Office 365 or Outlook.  

  • Skilled in AutoCAD, Vectorworks or Sketchup. Other rendering programs will be considered.  

  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint. 

  • Fast learner, works efficiently and independently, be able to roll with the flow!     

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. 

  • Smart, attention to detail, good communicator - please know the difference between there, they're and their.  

  • Be able to communicate well and correctly with clients. 

  • Pay is dependent on experience.

Designer must be capable of taking a project from consultation to completion be it a 1 room refresh or an entire house!

DESIGN assistant

Blythe Interiors is hiring! We are a rapidly growing design firm nestled in Mission Hills looking for a Design Assistant to work with our team of Interior Designers, helping them with a variety of duties associated with residential design projects. 

duties to include, but not limited to:

  • Returns / exchanges / purchases

  • Sample pick-ups and deliveries

  • Reprographic pick-ups and drop offs

  • Presentation revisions  / updates

  • Attending design meetings  & follow-up duties

  • Photo shoot assistance

  • Installation assistance – physical work required, including:

     - Loading and unloading products   

    - Unpacking boxes

    - Trash removal

    - Install kit maintenance

    - Drape and bedding pressing

    - Misc. duties

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Technical requirements - Office 365, Outlook, Microsoft Office 

  • Must have reliable transportation and insurance — errand mileage reimbursed.

Hours: M-F / Hours Negotiable

Between 20-30 hours / week

Pay:  $15.00/Hr
